Denys' new band celebrates the work of John Coltrane with a new album, "The Late Trane" - July 2017 being the 50th anniversary of Coltrane's death. Denys' band revisits John Coltrane's compositions from 1963-67, rearranging & presenting them in exciting new forms, and paying homage to the original recordings. Coltrane's tunes represented some of the most emotional and spiritually charged music of the 20th Century, exemplified by ground breaking contributions such as The Love Supreme, Crescent, and Meditations. Dusk Dawn, Crescent, Living Space, Vigil and After the Rain. These are some of the compositions performed during "The Late Trane". Coltrane's music mirrors a time of tumultuous change in America and the rest of the world in the 1960s.
