SUNDAY 6 MAY Ribble Valley Jazz Collective Stage: 3:00pm to 5:00pm Venue: Aspinall Arms | FREE! Ribble Valley Jazz Collective is an experienced swing band, playing frequently at community and private events. The 20 strong band, directed by Paul J Rigby, plays popular jazz big band standards. Expect to hear Crunchy Frog, and Tuxedo Junction amongst some recent popular tunes. Foot tapping swing music! Jalapeños - Willy Fluss & Dave Luvin Stage: 5:00pm to 7:00pm Venue: Esc CC | FREE! Guitar & bass duo performing jazz, funk and Latin standards. These two skilful musicians will create the perfect atmosphere for a late Sunday afternoon at EscCC. Paul has played with some of the best jazz outfits (Loose Tubes/Mingus Big Band) and is a natural improviser in both music and word format. Expect the unexpected! Also on the bill is a trio of Sheffield actors called 'Words Aloud' who incorporate performance with word in a project named, intriguingly, as 'Questions of England'. They improvise in a highly entertaining way in a question/answer format that can (and probably will) include audience interaction. Great fun! This is a unique opportunity to experience the creative talents of local and national artists who like expanding the boundaries - presented with a smile. They have supported legends such as Bo Didley, Climax Blues Band, and Steve Gibbons - Say no more! The Cassis Collective Quartet Stage: 7:30pm to 9:30pm Venue: The Dog Inn, Longridge | FREE! Welcome to a new band and festival venue. The Cassis Collective Quartet is a classic jazz duo of guitar & violin, plus double bass, and French singer Yasmine Yilmaz. The band will play songs from the early jazz years up to the present day. The modernised Dog Inn boasts fine accommodation and restaurant facilities.
