SATURDAY 5 MAY Route 66 Stage: 8:00pm to 10:00pm Venue: Maxwell's Café Bar | FREE! Route 66, a highly experienced RnB band from Buxton, Derbyshire, has played around 1000 gigs in 25 years! Festivals, tiny pubs - all get their best show. The band plays in the style of The Stones, Dr Feelgood, Chuck Berry & Muddy Waters, with a few original tunes thrown in. Event sponsored by Sue Lightbown Pericopes + 1 is a jazz project initiated by pianist Alessandro Sgobbio & saxophonist Emiliano Vernizzi. Brooklyn-based drummer Nick Wight became the + 1 in 2012. The result is "These Human Beings", a 2015 album. The trio has had widespread media attention and two successful album-release tours in America & Europe. And Pericopes has appeared in Darwen at No. 39 Bar! Since its release, "These Human Beings" rapidly gained attention of the international jazz press and iconic musicians. Additional achievements include a featured interview and performance for RAI Radio 3 in Milan, an appearance on Austrian National Television, and various highlights from their tours. Willy Fluss & Twin Frets Stage: 8:00pm to 10:00pm Venue: Aspinall Arms | FREE! Twin Frets is North West jazz guitar maestro, Willy Fluss, alongside Vernon Fuller's cool & mellow guitar & vocals. These guys will play some great jazz standards with soul & reggae rhythms. Regular appearing at several Ribble Valley hotels and wine bars. Pericopes + 1 Doors: 10:00pm | Stage: 10:30pm to 1:00am Venue: Clitheroe Cricket Club | Adv Ticket: £14/£13 members, under 16s: Free Embracing a new musical palette inspired by alternative and popular culture of the past several decades with dynamic grooves & rhythmic focus into the late night. Definately not cricket! The Templebys Stage: 10:00pm to 12:00am Venue: Rose & Crown | FREE! The Templebys come with a large measure of soul, a generous helping of funk, and a dash of acid jazz! Expect gutsy female vocals, heavy bass driven grooves, riff heavy guitar & liberal lashings of Hammond funk. Influences? From late 60s/70s but their sound is fresh and up to date. The Cassis Collective Duo Stage: 10:30pm to 12:00am Venue: The Ale House | FREE! Welcome to the Ale House for the Cassis Collective who are a classic jazz duo of guitar and violin. Songs from the early jazz years up to the present day are played with sophistication.
